Expressing the sense of the Congress regarding the 75th anniversary of 
                   the Water Environment Federation.

                    IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

                           September 4, 2003

 Mr. Moran of Virginia submitted the following concurrent resolution; 
       which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and 
                             Infrastructure

                         CONCURRENT RESOLUTION


 
Expressing the sense of the Congress regarding the 75th anniversary of 
                   the Water Environment Federation.

Whereas the Water Environment Federation has guided technological development 
        and public health in water quality since 1928;
Whereas the Water Environment Federation is a not-for-profit technical and 
        educational organization with members from varied disciplines who work 
        toward the preservation and enhancement of the global water environment;
Whereas the Water Environment Federation is a global organization of 79 member 
        associations and 6 corresponding associations representing every major 
        region of the world;
Whereas the Water Environment Federation researches and publishes the latest 
        information on wastewater treatment, public health, and water quality 
        protection;
Whereas the Water Environment Federation provides technical expertise and 
        training on issues including nonpoint source pollution, hazardous waste, 
        residuals management, total maximum daily loads, and groundwater;
Whereas the Water Environment Federation reviews, testifies, and comments on 
        environmental regulations and legislation;
Whereas the Water Environment Federation sponsors conferences and other special 
        events around the world for technical experts, government officials, and 
        the general public; and
Whereas the Water Environment Federation provides assistance with technical 
        services and educational resources for members of the Federation, 
        government officials, and the general public: Now, therefore, be it
    Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), 
That the Congress--
            (1) honors and acknowledges the Water Environment 
        Federation for its 75 years of service toward the preservation 
        and enhancement of the global water environment; and
            (2) recognizes the Water Environment Federation as it moves 
        into a century of improving water quality.
