                  In the Senate of the United States,

                                                     November 19, 1999.
    Resolved, That the bill from the House of Representatives (H.R. 
1377) entitled ``An Act to designate the facility of the United States 
Postal Service at 13234 South Baltimore Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, as 
the `John J. Buchanan Post Office Building'.'', do pass with the 
following

                              AMENDMENTS:

            Strike out all after the enacting clause and insert:

SECTION 1. DESIGNATION.

    The facility of the United States Postal Service, located at 9308 
South Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, 60617, is designated as the 
``John J. Buchanan Post Office Building''.

SEC. 2. REFERENCES.

    Any reference in a law, regulation, map, document, paper, or other 
record of the United States to the facility referred to in section 1 
shall be considered to be a reference to the ``John J. Buchanan Post 
Office Building''.

            Amend the title so as to read: ``An Act to designate the 
        facility of the United States Postal Service located at 9308 
        South Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, as the `John J. 
        Buchanan Post Office Building'.''.
