                                 An Act


 
To authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2001 for military activities 
of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense 
activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe personnel strengths 
   for such fiscal year for the Armed Forces, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. ENACTMENT OF FISCAL YEAR 2001 NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION 
              ACT.

    The provisions of H.R. 5408 of the 106th Congress, as introduced on 
October 6, 2000, are hereby enacted into law.

SEC. 2. PUBLICATION OF ACT.

    In publishing this Act in slip form and in the United States 
Statutes at Large pursuant to section 112 of title 1, United States 
Code, the Archivist of the United States shall include after the date 
of approval an appendix setting forth the text of the bill referred to 
in section 1.
