To extend the temporary office of bankruptcy judge established for the 
                      district of South Carolina.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. EXTENSION.

    The temporary office of bankruptcy judge authorized for the 
district of South Carolina under section 3(a)(8) of the Bankruptcy 
Judgeship Act of 1992 (28 U.S.C. 152 note) is extended until the first 
vacancy occurring in such office resulting from the death, retirement, 
resignation, or removal of a bankruptcy judge and occurring 8 years or 
more after June 27, 1994.

SEC. 2. APPLICABILITY OF OTHER PROVISIONS.

    All other provisions of section 3 of the Bankruptcy Judgeship Act 
of 1992 (28 U.S.C. 152 note) remain applicable to the temporary office 
of bankruptcy judge referred to in section 1.
