  To amend title IV of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 
   1974 to adjust the monthly multiemployer plan benefit guaranteed 
                              thereunder.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. MULTIEMPLOYER PLAN BENEFITS GUARANTEED.

    (a) In General.--Section 4022A(c) of the Employee Retirement Income 
Security Act of 1974 (29 U.S.C. 1322a(c)) is amended--
            (1) by striking ``$5'' each place it appears in paragraph 
        (1) and inserting ``$11'';
            (2) by striking ``$15'' in paragraph (1)(A)(i) and 
        inserting ``$33''; and
            (3) by striking paragraphs (2), (5), and (6) and by 
        redesignating paragraphs (3) and (4) as paragraphs (2) and (3), 
        respectively.
    (b) Effective Date.--The amendments made by this section shall 
apply to any multiemployer plan that has not received financial 
assistance (within the meaning of section 4261 of the Employee 
Retirement Income Security Act of 1974) within the 1-year period ending 
on the date of the enactment of this Act.
