Amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to limit service on
the Committee on Appropriations to not more than three Congresses in a
period of five successive Congresses.

following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Rules

RESOLUTION
Amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to limit service on
the Committee on Appropriations to not more than three Congresses in a
period of five successive Congresses.
Resolved, That clause 5(a) of rule X of the Rules of the House of
Representatives is amended by adding at the end the following new
subparagraph:
``(5) A member of the Committee on Appropriations may not serve on
the committee during more than three Congresses in a period of five
Congresses (beginning with service in the 107th Congress and
disregarding for this purpose any service for less than a full session
in a Congress).''.
