To amend the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act to extend the 
   availability of funds to carry out the fruit and vegetable pilot 
      program.<greek-th> x <greek-th> x <greek-th> x <greek-th> x 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,<greek-th> x 

SECTION 1. FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PILOT PROGRAM.<greek-th> x 

    Section 18(g)(4) of the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch 
Act (42 U.S.C. 1769(g)(4)) is amended by inserting before the period at 
the end the following: ``, to remain available until the close of the 
school year beginning July 
2003''.<greek-th> x <greek-th> x <greek-th> x
